In Issan, northeastern Thailand, Christians are only 0.2% of the people. Through the 1นำ2 movement, ordinary believers are telling their families and neighbors about Jesus, and churches across the region are growing again.
0.2%of Issan is Christian. More than 98% of the population is shaped by Buddhism.

A movement of evangelism and discipleship has ignited
In early 2025, I traveled through much of the Issan region, meeting with pastors and local Christian leaders to reflect together on the impact 1นำ2 has brought to their churches. As I listened to their testimonies, one truth became clear: 1นำ2 has not merely been a strategy. It has been the spark of a spiritual awakening across Issan.
The message at the heart of 1นำ2, “Anyone can share the Gospel,” gave confidence to believers of every age, background and ability to reach their families, friends and communities. Throughout 2024, tens of thousands of people across Issan heard the Gospel.
This is not the finish line. It is the turning point.
1นำ2 has also become a unifying force, bringing together churches, missionaries and Christian organizations that once worked in isolation. Issan, long considered one of the most challenging mission fields in Asia, is emerging as a model of what God can accomplish.

What we did this year
Expanding evangelism through discipleship groups
We formed home-based discipleship groups to reach and nurture non-believers deeply influenced by Buddhism.
Citywide evangelism campaigns
We brought together churches, missionaries and ministries to evangelize an entire city, starting a wave of Gospel outreach.
Discipleship groups in homes
New believers in Issan often struggle to stay in church. Home-based groups give them, and their non-believing relatives, a safe and relational place to experience Christian community. We continue to train believers and coach pastors so this becomes a lasting discipleship structure for churches across Issan.

Maximizing evangelism
Evangelism is the calling of every believer, not a few leaders.

- Prayer lists: every believer prays for specific non-believers
- Weekly testimonies that inspire action
- Team evangelism: visiting, praying and following up together
Multiplying discipleship groups
Our aim is a discipleship group in every church across Issan, raising every believer into a disciple who makes disciples.
- Home-based family gatherings where relatives can join naturally
- Bible-story content that is simple for new believers
- Team-based follow-up for unbelieving family members
Pray! Pray! Pray!
Lasting change comes only through the power of the Holy Spirit. In 2026 we plan to launch Spiritual Awakening Gatherings in every region and village across Issan.
